- Magid Safety M011b9 Electrical Gloves Astm D120-09 Compliant Class 0 Rubber Insulating With Straight Cuff Work 11 Length Size 9
Description:
The Magid M011B ARC flash insulating glove, size 9, is made of black dielectric natural rubber latex, provides class 0 low voltage protection up to 1,000V AC/1,500V DC, has a straight cuff, and is suitable for lineman work, electrical contractor and field service work, high-voltage machine operations, and other industrial applications. The dielectric natural rubber latex is non-conductive and provides better elasticity than nitrile, chloroprene, or vinyl, and better puncture resistance than vinyl. The glove has a contoured shape to help reduce hand fatigue and chafing, and a smooth finish for comfort and to resist wear. The glove is 11" long from the tip of the middle finger to the edge of the cuff. The cuff has a rolled edge and helps protect the hand, wrist, and forearm. The label on the back of the glove contains size and voltage protection information to facilitate the visual identification of the gloves size and specifications, and is flush with the glove for durability and comfort. This glove is manufactured to comply with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D120-09 standard specification for rubber insulating gloves, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29C FR 1910. 269 standards for electric power generation, transmission and distribution, and National Fire Protection Association 70E standard for electrical safety in the workplace. It comes in a pair of gloves. Work gloves help protect the hands, can cover the wrists, and sometimes extend to cover part, or all, of the arm. Work gloves are typically constructed from leather or heavy cotton and are suitable for use in construction, mechanical, landscaping, and do-it-yourself applications to help protect against minor cuts and abrasions. Work gloves for use in manufacturing and construction industries can be made of woven, high-strength synthetic fiber, to resist cuts from heavy machinery and withstand high levels of heat without melting. Work gloves may also be made of, or include, flame retardant material, for use in welding and other heavy-duty applications. Magid Glove & Safety manufactures gloves, protective clothing, first aid supplies, and personal protective equipment. The company, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Chicago, IL, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2008. Once an electrical glove is initially tested, the glove will have a date stamped on it. This is the date of the initial test. The customer then has 12 months from that date to put the glove into the field. As long as they put it into the field anytime during those 12 months, they then have 6 months from the date they put it in the field, before it needs to be re-tested. For example if the date stamp on the gloves is JAN 1, the gloves can sit on the shelf and be put into the field on any day of that year, including DEC 31. When they put that glove into the field, it then has 6 months before a re-test is required. There is a misconception that if the gloves are put into the field on DEC 31, they only have 1 day of use. However, that is not true, and they actually have 6 months to use the glove.
