Bearhug Whittet-Higgins one-piece Bearhug prevailing torque locknuts function through the use of a pre-threaded, inter-molded, heat stabilized, polymer locking collar. This locking collar is precisely cut and formed to create a specific functional interference fit when threaded onto the shaft or spindle thread. When assembling onto a shaft thread, a higher torque value is required as the polymer collar is deformed and compressed. This elevated force prevents the retaining nut from loosening and prevents the full power transmission assembly from becoming loose during operation. Benefits: --Self-Locking --More precise, easier and faster to install and remove than traditional locknut and lockwasher combination --Prevents assemblies from loosening from forces of vibration, shock-loading, and torque --Provides 360 degrees of locking positions to installer for exact bearing preloading and adjustment --Eliminates expensive cutting of keyway --No special tools required for installation of locknut --Effective on both soft and hardened shafts list-item> Meets and exceeds specifications of ANSI /AFBMA Standard 8.1-1986 and ISO-2982 --Manufactured in USA --RoHS Compliant Applications: --Compressors --Gear box assemblies --Packaging equipment --Pump manufacturers --High precision assemblies --Numerous other machinery and equipment applications Specifications: --Max. Outside Diameter: 110.0 --Max. Thickness: 18.0 --Thread Size: M85 x 2.0 --Max.
