Snappy Collet Drill Adapters Precision adapters convert standard and specialty round shank drill bits. brad point bits and masonry bits into quick-change power bits. Unlike adapters which merely have a hole and set screw to hold the bit, these precision collets ensure there is no appreciable run-out (wobble) created by a poor fit. The image above shows an assembled drill and collet on the left, standard drill bit in the center, and disassembled collet adapter on the right. Each adapter will accommodate a range of sizes from 0. 005" larger to 0. 010" smaller than the size listed. The products offered here are the adapters (right product in image).
